5 Tips For Maintaining A Freshly Sorted Wardrobe

5 Tips For Maintaining A Freshly Sorted Wardrobe

Congratulations! You now have a freshly sorted wardrobe and may be wondering how can you maintain perfectly folded clothing without slipping into past unruly ways?

Know that it is possible! And quick!

Keep reading for the top 5 tips on how to maintain a freshly sorted wardrobe.

1. Take five minutes at the end of every day to tidy up

Get into a routine of tidying up your bedroom at the end of each day. All it takes is five minutes, even less if you maintain it well.

Give your bedroom a quick once over before climbing into bed at night. Not only will you sleep better without any clutter around, you’ll wake up knowing you’re free to start the day without any baggage.

And that is the best way to start the day!

2. Don’t let excess belongings build up

Consider applying the ‘if you haven’t worn it for six months, donate it to charity’ rule when it comes to clothes.

It’s normal for your style and taste to change over time. Instead of creating a home for moths and dust donate your clothes to charity and give them a new lease on life.

The positive karma helps too.

3. Rotate your clothes seasonally

Vacuum seal bags are your lifesaver when it comes to keeping your wardrobe in line.

Separate your clothing into summer and winter items and store the items you won’t need for several months in vacuum bags. These can be placed on the top shelves of your wardrobe, out of sight, and with peace of mind knowing they won’t be affected by dust.

And of course, the space you save will help stop the rest of your wardrobe from bursting at the seams, or alternatively, give you more room to shop.

4. Don’t forget hidden spots

You know those corners of your bedroom you disregard? The ones where piles of your personal belongings seem to accumulate with no notice? Stay on top of these problem areas especially when doing a quick nightly tidy.

Consider setting aside a few extra minutes once a week to sort through your bedside tables or other areas you find yourself neglecting.

5. Put everything back in its place

You can save oodles and time and energy by putting your belongings back into their place as soon as you have finished using them.

We cannot preach this enough!

We understand that it’s not always the first thing you want to do.

We get that it’s annoying, but after you wear your favourite coat, hang it straight back up. Throwing it onto your bed only adds to the amount of work you’ll have later on.

Be positive! You can do this!
